Beacon Hill Bears v Beacon Hill Jaguars
Despite the bad weather, a dedicated team of Bears players and supporters turned up to play the game.
The players were dressed and all set to start the game when the match was cancelled. The cold and wet but enthusiastic players stayed on for a kick and a quick run around before heading home.
Hopefully the weather will improve for next week.

Wyatt Avenue, Belrose
Beacon Hill Sharks v BTH Raiders Gorillas
The game started in typical autumn weather, clear skies with distant threatening clouds.
The BTH Raiders kicked off the scoring early in the game. Beacon Hill Sharks come back with a swift reply through Daniel Bosnich.
1-1. BTH took the lead once again and then the heavens opened.
Yes the threatening clouds delivered rain. From then on the mud became a very clear point of interest.
The Beacon Hill Sharks tried valiantly and chased (when they could re-focus away from the rain and the mud). Clio worked hard throughout the game and showed the boys that it is only rain after all. Clio revelled in the conditions. In the end the BTH Raiders won the game by 7 goals to 1.
In the other Under 6 Sharks team, Beacon Hill recorded a 4-2 win with Sam scoring a hat trick.
Encouragement Award this week went to Daniel Bosnich and the Player of the Week was Fletcher Edney.
Well done the Sharks.

Beacon Hill Titans v Brookvale
In truly atrocious weather the Beacon Hill Titans kicked off to start the game against Brookvale Panthers.
We welcomed Jessica on to our team and she proved herself as a worthy player.
Brookvale's attacking was excellent and won them a corner. The kick soared over our defenders heads and came down at the feet of a Brookvale attacker, whose shot went skimming past the post. Beacon Hill showed attacking initiative immediately by counter-attacking. The battle was then fought at a safe distance from the Titan's goals and brought to an end with a goal by Jessica.
Attacking valiantly, Brookvale got themselves an equaliser when the goal came off Patrick's right foot and over the goalie, Ben.
Beacon Hill attacked straight away but got themselves in trouble via defence, who was unlucky enough to let a striker past their grip and concede a goal; brushing off the keeper's fingertips and into the corner of the net.
Our players came off the pitch wet, tired and heart-trodden; and went on forebode but willing to give it a go.
The second half began with Beacon Hill attacking, striking and pounding their defence, while Brookvale clung on for dear life. James grabbed Beacon Hill's second and the onlookers went wild with delight (well, that is to say the Beacon Hill onlookers).
Brookvale attacked again but were unable to get anything out of it, due to terrific goalkeeping. Maya worked strong down the sides with strong backup from James and Patrick while Josh found space in the middle. Ben was excellent down the right wing and got good balls into the middle.
5 minutes passed with ferocious attacking and desperate defending. Then coming from a quarter down the pitch, Ben's shot found the top right hand corner of the net after coming off the goalkeeper's hand.
Brookvale attacked again but the defence was too strong and they couldn't get through. The whistle sounded the end of the match, signalling cheers of delight and sighs of relief.
Final Score: 3-2 Beacon Hill's way.

Beacon Hill Hurricanes v Pittwater RSL Jaguars
We were ready for a tough game against the Pittwater RSL Club Jaguars. The Hurricanes were on fire from the start, dominating the first half and attacking the goal at every opportunity. So much so that Darcy in goal never had a touch of the ball.
Darcy made up for it though in the second half displaying his brilliant dribbling and passing skills to set up attempts for goal on a number of occasions.
The Jaguar defence was strong and equal to the task; it would take something special to get past them. It came in the form of lightning leftie Blake who had numerous shots at goal. Blake took a massive header to steer the ball back into play and was finally rewarded with a goal soon after.
Harry was having a brilliant first half, defending strongly and gaining possession of the ball from fierce opposition. James made sure the ball would stay in the Jaguars end with excellent clearing kicks.
Just before half time saw lots of action with Dean enjoying a high kicking game in midfield. A great kick from Jimmy just hitting the goalposts and Wesley waiting eagerly in the goal area. The team was really giving themselves every opportunity to score. At the end of the first half it was Beacon Hill 1-0.
Coach, Steve Paterson fired them up for the second half with Josh in goals. It's a very different half as the Jaguars have picked up the pace. With a goal down they know what they have to do. Attacking the goal Josh defends on all angles clearing the ball well. A goal finally comes to Pittwater and the game is now really on.
Jake takes the bull by the horns and lets loose an almighty kick. The ball sails towards the goals with his team mates eagerly waiting to finish the task. Great defence once again by Pittwater kept the final score at 1-1.
Jarrod was on fire on the wing throughout the game setting up many goal opportunities and deserved Player of the Week.
Both teams were well matched and the hurricanes can be proud of a great effort.
Well done Hurricanes.

Beacon Hill Bears v Beacon Hill Sharks
The game between the two U6 Beacon Hill teams was closely contested.
To the credit of all of the players, the game was played with skill, enthusiasm and great sportsmanship.
Most importantly, the Bears really enjoyed the game.
Of the U6 Bears, Bianca Raffin, Lachlan Oakes and Toby Nunn played well and are showing great improvement.
The player of the match went to our newest member Oliver Heintz who, in playing his first match with the team, worked hard all game, played with flair in creating a number of goal scoring opportunities and showed great bravery.

Beacon Hill Jaguars v Beacon Hill Jackals
Both Beacon Hill teams offered good competition for each other with the Jaguars only just coming out on top but in the end Beacon Hill were all winners at the end of the day.
The Jaguars have improved significantly since the start of the season and continue to demonstrate great defence and attack. The boys push themselves to the limit as they play with immense passion and well and truly earn their break at half time.
There is great comradeship within the team as they are all classmates and friends on the field. It was lovely to see the Jaguars being humble winners as they shook hands with their opponents at the end of their 5th match.

What a difference a few weeks of training makes!
Both teams played extremely well. The Sharks are slowly coming together to play as a team and the number of goals scored this week goes to show how much better our ball skills are getting. Well Done Sharks!
Goals were scored by Riley (2) Tyler, Ben & Clio (2) with a result of 6 - 2 on one side. Sam (4) Max (2) Fletcher & Daniel scored on our other side.
This week's Match Player was Riley and the Encouragement Award went to Clio.

The Tigers played really well against a strong Dee Why side.
Again there were plenty of goals to keep the crowd happy. The passing was again noticeable and proved the difference between the 2 sides. The way the players are tackling back and helping each other is great to see, well done lads.
The Player of the Week was Torin and the Encouragement Award went to, another of our new players, Sho Hei.

Beacon Hill Brumbies v Brookvale Titans
The dizzying excitement of Jessica Watson sailing through the Heads was only surpassed by the enthusiasm of the BH Brumbies last Saturday morning. The team loves playing together and showed it throughout their matches. The Brumbies won both games despite much spirited defence (and some impressive hair accessorising) from the Titans.
The boys are really starting to work together as a team. Coach Victor has been working during the week on getting the team to focus on passing the ball and the practice is paying off. On Saturday we saw amazing passes which really set up some stunning goals. Even the near misses were impressive!
We saw fantastic goal scoring, particularly from Josh, Keanu, Callum and Conor who showed great ball skills and attack. They were matched by excellent defence work, notably from James, Ethan and the ever reliable Leroy. And this week we also saw some fantastic displays of dribbling, take a bow Luke and Zack!!
This week's Player of the Match was William who delighted and amazed everyone, especially himself, by scoring his first goal. The smile on his face could have even outshone Jessica...
Another great morning of fun and sportsmanship.

Georges Heights, Mosman
Beacon Hill Cheetahs 0 v Mosman FC Dolphins 2
Wow, what a great game the girls had! The Cheetahs put up a brave fight against the Dolphins.
Jessica was giving the Dolphins a run for their money, however, just couldn't get it across the line this week. A fantastic effort by our two goalkeepers, Olivia and Sarah.
Mahalia and Jacinta took a crack at the goal, but, unfortunately, luck wasn't on their side! Taylor, Tiana, Bianca and Pippa played a fantastic game. They were both defending and attacking and worked tirelessly for the entire game.
Although we lost, still a great result considering most of the team are first-timers to the game.
Well Done Cheetahs!

Tristram Road, Beacon Hill
Beacon Hill Storm 2 v Curl Curl Coyotes 0
The sun was shining brightly at Tristram Road as the Storm and Coyotes took the field. Right from the kick off, you could tell this game was going to be a hard-fought battle as the Coyotes dug in deep and took up residence in the Storm's end for most of the first half.
Oskar and Francis were phenomenal in defence as they valiantly repelled the Coyotes' attacks time and time again. Francis's amazing efforts even saw him use a header to save a goal attempt. Cooper, although feeling a bit under the weather, was tremendous in goals, often clearing the ball back to half way.
The midfield of Josh, Jeremy, Filip and Thomas worked tirelessly against the constant incursions into Storm territory. Josh with his fantastic kicking skills, Philip hounding the Coyotes with his strong tackling, Jeremy with his positional play and passing, and Thomas with his speed were a strong support for the backline defence.
And the forwards, Daniel and Ferdi, made what small ground they could and were constantly trying to put the plays together to score; Ferdi, rushing headlong up the sideline and Daniel, missing narrowly a couple of shots at goal. Each attempt to score brought screams from the hordes on the sideline, followed by groans of despair as each chance was ruthlessly denied.
Half time saw a nil all score which showed the strength of a phenomenal defence which had been tested hard, but had held firm. Sam rallied the team over oranges, and with some new blood in the form of Darcy B and Daniel F (plus a favourably sloping field), the Storm raged into the second half.
The Coyotes were up for the challenge, and the game see-sawed up and down the field. Both teams were feeling the need to score, and the pressure was mounting. And then, when the stalemate seemed to be unbreakable, Darcy went for the jugular, after a huge play set up by Thomas, Daniel and Cooper, and scored to take the Storm to one nil. The sideline hordes went wild with screams and shouts of excitement.
The ball was brought back to the centre for the Coyotes kick-off, and the game surged forward as they sought their revenge. They played hard and tight, but the Storm was flying high from the goal, and the game moved more and more into the Coyote territory. Daniel, Filip, Jeremy and Cooper were all over the midfield, and Daniel F moved in to take a shot at goal, which, with his powerful kick, was unfortunately, too hard and high. Supporters groaned from the sidelines. But there was more to come.
Darcy, with his almost-magical control of the ball, zipped through the Coyote defenders and with speed and accuracy, scored a second great goal for the Storm.
The full time whistle blew, and the Storm took the victory two to nil. It was a hard battle well-fought, and a brilliant team effort.
Player of the Match was awarded to Francis, and the McDonalds Encouragement Award to Oskar, both well deserving recipients for their great efforts in defence against a worthy opponent.
Congratulations Storm! And thank you to the great efforts from coach Sam.

Abbott Road, Curl Curl
Beacon Hill Tornados 2 v Curl Curl Panthers 1
The Tornados did not come to pick shells down by the sea shore at Abbotts with the visitors sealing a well earned, 2:1 victory. It was a tough and torrid game against an eager Panthers outfit playing with a home turf advantage. This game was not so much won on individual heroics but fought in the trenches with a very committed and gritty team effort, particularly in defence.
All players tackled well, winning most contests, and passed with aplomb with the home team always breathing down our necks and pushing the Tornados to make a stand and show what they were made of. Stern stuff a few in the crowd were heard to murmur...
It was Josh who showed composure with a lone run and then spearing one past the keeper for the first point. The Tornadoes were not carried away with this and got straight back to work to get the job done. The Panthers growled back shortly after with an equaliser to bring the game down to an intense, nail-biting finish.
With two minutes to go, Tom hit the winning goal, a screamer which rattled the goalie and left the Panthers licking their paws.
Of particular mention as Hanna's tenacious and focused defence. Her efforts paid off when she helped set up a goal making the difference on the day. She deservedly collected the player of the game award.
Well done Tornados you all played well and deserve a pat on the back for your efforts!

Beacon Hill Hurricanes 3 v Mosman Jaguars 1
What a great start to the game with play at both ends of the field.
Dean took an early corner kick and the ball went to Blake who booted the ball into the back of the net. After pressure being placed on the other team by Beacon Hill, Jimmy scored the next goal a short time later.
Harry and Jake kicked some big clearing kicks to stop Mosman having any attempt at goal which meant that Daniel had a quiet time as goal keeper in the first half. Darcy had an attempt at goal, unfortunately it was caught by the goal keeper.
At half time, Beacon Hill was leading 2-0.
Jimmy scored a goal in the second half after the goal keeper fumbled the ball. Dean was the goal keeper in the second half and he was kept busy by the near miss attempts by Mosman.
A big effort was put in by Jarrod, James, Joshua and Wesley in both attacking and defending.
Final score 3-1 and the achievement award went to Dean. Congratulations Dean.

George Heights Oval, Mosman
Beacon Hill Storm 5 v Mosman Cougars 0
On a beautiful autumn morning, we all made that long drive to Georges Heights with a good feeling.
Under the very experienced and patient hands of our coach – Sam, the boys were making massive improvements every week. After a fantastic training session on Thursday, a very fired up Storm took the field.
Within minutes, Cooper gets the ball up front, sprints towards the goal and slams it in the back of the net – the sideline erupts! Moments later, Jeremy passes a great ball to Cooper who scores his second goal.
The Storm displayed some great team work in the 1st half. Ronin & Oscar were brilliant in the backs and made some huge clearing kicks. The few chances Mosman had were thwarted by our GK, Josh, who made several saves and big goal kicks. Reece and Francis made some great runs for goals and were very unlucky not to score.
Daniel too was looking dangerous and late in the 1st half chipped a beautiful ball over the GK, giving us a 3-0 lead at half time.
The Storm played the second half with the same intensity. Mosman however, came out attacking and really put some pressure on our GK, but Thomas was fearless and literally threw himself on the ball and did some courageous saves.
Josh & Filip were solid in the middle and did some great stops and passes. Ferdi ran all day and was always looking dangerous. The boys created some excellent scoring opportunities with Francis making several attempts, one hitting the cross bar and then one finally finding the back of the net.
The 2nd half ended with Daniel scoring his second goal and the Storm winning 5-0!!!
Player of the Match was awarded to Cooper and the McDonalds Encouragement Award to Josh.
Well done Storm on a brilliant TEAM effort – Coach Sam and all the supporters are very proud of your performance!!

Beacon Hill Tornadoes v Forest Killarney Club Explorers
The Tornadoes played home against the Forest Explorers this weekend. The Explorers are a strong team and were expected to give the Tornadoes their first real tough match, after two walk-overs against two Collaroy teams and a bye. This was going to be our first real test!
Coach Wayne Pierce rallied the Tornadoes pre-match, reminding them
that the whole team had to stay in their positions throughout the game
to keep this strong team under control. Joel, the dedicated goalie of
the Tornadoes was given instructions to keep his goal clean despite an
expected onslaught from Forest.
The game kicked off and Tom soon found himself within shooting distance at the high end of the pitch, only to see his shot saved by Forest! A running counter strike from Forest was the immediate answer and Joel was tested for the first time - he too saved!
The battle had begun! A few minutes later Joel had to concede a corner to Forest, which he saved again!
As the game flowed across midfield several times, Jordan found himself in striking position on the right, almost...
Only eight minutes in, again a corner for Forest and Joel goes for a third save, but he looses hold of the ball - a cool team effort from the Tornadoes clears the ball from the box.
The game is brought right back to the Forest goal by the Tornadoes, where a fumble from the Forest goalie almost results in a Beacon Hill goal...
The midfield battle rages on as the Tornadoes try to stay in position as much as possible. Coach Wayne subs players regularly to reinforce the efforts. Another Forest strike ends in the confident hands of Joel.
Half time sees 0 - 0 on the score board!
The second half sees an immediate continuation of midfield challenges. Forest gains another corner which is confidently defended by the Tornadoes. A few seconds later Jordie goes for a run on the right and wins a corner for the Tornadoes. As strikes from both teams wave across the field, Eric and Hannah prove they are solid defenders. Lucas goes for several runs on the very edge of left field, resulting in yet another corner for Beacon Hill.
The game seems to be firmly stuck on the Forest half of the pitch. Hannah has a shot at goal from a corner, still no goal...
Ten minutes in the second half, a Forest striker comes running at the Tornadoes goal, but Joel instinctively launches into a 50/50 challenge of the attacker, forcing his hurried shot wide! Still 0 - 0! Only a minute later, this time two Forest strikers break clear of the Tornadoes defence. Facing two opponents, Joel storms forward to cover the Tornadoes goal and stifle their attack. Again, the Forest shot goes wide - only to be bounced right back into the box by the post! The second Forest striker only needs to tap in for a goal, the Tornadoes are behind 0 - 1...
The Tornadoes don't give in and keep up their efforts, the whole team is working hard to try and even the score! Unfortunately, time runs out and despite best efforts, 0 - 1 is the final score card...
Joel is Man of the Match for his brave saves, Happy Birthday to Zack and Happy Mother's Day to all mums!

WHAT A GAME
This was a great exciting game of football with all our players involved in every move from the starting whistle, defence and attack worked with each other to give us an outstanding show of football skills from our team.
The opposition were held scoreless due to our players backing up when needed and our attack took every scoring opportunity. Pressure put on by our players unsettled them from the start and continued throughout the game which made for an entertaining show by each of our players on the field.
There were too many great moments in this game to put names, but each and every player deserves credit for the win as you all worked together and backed up staying in their positions watching the other team members and backing up when needed.

Beacon Hill Brumbies v Narrabeen Pythons
It was a cold Saturday morning when the Beacon Hill Brumbies welcomed the Narrabeen Pythons, but the game that unfolded warmed everyone up.
It was the expected tight game. Both teams seemed to be pushed by the idea that the Football World Cup in South Africa is approaching and this might be one of the last chances to make the cut for the Socceroos team.
The Brumbies well known for their skills and speed created chances from the very beginning. But the Pythons didn't travel to Narrabeen to give away goals and points easily.
Both sides had many shots at goal that could only be denied by the great teamwork both teams showed. In the second half the teams had to pay tribute to the hard work and running they did in the first half.
Nevertheless none of the teams was willing to give up. Even hard tackles couldn't stop them. Gunwaan, one of the mighty Brumbies, took a hard tackle that saw him limping off the field. The fans of the Brumbies feared the worse, but a quick x-ray at the sideline cleared him of any injury. After a drink he was off again to support his team.
The game finished with both side proud of their achievements – This was a great game. Gunwaan became Player of the Match.
Everyone agreed that we can't wait to see those mighty Brumbies playing next Saturday again.

Beacon Hill Titans 3 v Mosman Cheetahs 2
The Beacon Hill Titans exchanged their familiar blue shirts for yellow ones as they lined up against the Mosman Cheetahs in the under 9's.
The teams may have worn different colours, but there was little between them in playing ability. Both sides showed courageous defence, great attack and a flair for teamwork.
The first half began with the Titans having to defend from repeated raids, with great footwork from Oscar and Maya, goalkeeping from Ben, and Sean saving the day again and again with big clearing kicks.
Eventually the Cheetahs persistence paid off with a goal, but the Titans rallied and equalised just a minute later with James taking a great pass from Patrick and kicking it home.
Momentum then swung to the Titans. Patrick just missed with his own soaring kick and then Nick found the net to make it 2 goals to 1. The Cheetahs counterattacked but could not score before the half time whistle.
The second half was a nail biter. It began with the Titans on the attack. Nick, Ben, Maya and Josh worked together and had three very strong shots at goal, but the Cheetahs defence was too good.
Josh show great energy and seemed to be everywhere on the field at once! Nathan, Oscar, Patrick and Sean were equally valiant defenders, but the Cheetah's star attacker finally managed to work the ball past all of them to tie up the match at 2 all.
Just like in the first half, however, the Titans showed their mettle by counterattacking immediately, and Josh's hard work paid off with a fine goal in the closing minutes to make it 3:2 to the Titans.

Beacon Hill Storm v Wakehurst Jets
First half: Jeremy was sensational in goals and saved 5 balls. The boys were defending very well and made some stupendous strategic passes.
Oskar made 4 powerful kicks away from goals. There were more than 2 fabulous attempts by Ferdie at kicking a goal but unfortunately the defence by WJ was too good.
Francis appeared out of nowhere to kick 4 balls away from goals. Ronan defended brilliantly with WJ throwing in and Cooper kicking some powerful balls down the field.
Thomas and Reece intercepted some great balls. Both teams defended well in a super tight first half. No goals scored.
Second half: In the second half after some very energised instructions from coach Sam, the boys played amazingly and this was certainly shaping up to be a nail biting/teeth clenching half!
A great kick across the field by Francis setting up a very close goal which Reece nearly executed. Two seconds later Daniel nearly scored a goal but the defence was too good. He gave it another go, 3 attempts in 7 seconds, it was SO close!
During all the excitement one player was down - Josh but not for long as there was NO holding him back! Daniel, Cooper and Francis all passing the ball well. Shortly after WJ scored a goal. Cooper to kick off, there were plenty of brilliant saves by Jeremy. Another strong throw in by Francis to Ferdie who passed the ball well. Daniel, Cooper, Thomas, Reece all defended well.
Final score: 1-0 Wakehurst Jets win. Congratulations to Man of the Match Jeremy and to Ronan who received the Achievement Award.
Excellent work boys, you are having fun and Improving each week. Keep up the great work.
