Beverley Job Oval, Narraweena
Beacon Hill Tigers v Pittwater
With training cancelled again due to the wet weather, this did not stop the superb performance of the mighty Tigers in being once again victorious, this time against the Pittwater club. The Tigers only had one sub this week and Pittwater put up quite a fight and defended well but were no match to the brilliant striking abilities of Bradley, Jarvis, Torin and Corey.
Tyler, Riley and Shohei were instrumental in setting up goal opportunities and mid-field play while Sam and Ben displayed good defending skills and read the play on a number of occasions.
Sam was player of the week for his great defending skills and Torin was awarded the encouragement award for his overall solid, skilful performance.
Overall, the Tigers worked well together as a team, put in 100% effort and looked like they were having a fantastic, challenging time. Great game Tigers! Keep up your great performance! Go Tigers!

Tristram Road, Beacon Hill
Beacon Hill Hurricanes v Forest Killarney Bombers
The Hurricanes arrived at the pitch bright and early, after club photos, ready for a challenging game of soccer and a very challenging and sometimes frustrating game they had.
Jimmy was in goal for the first half and gallantly defended his goal. By an unfortunate series of kicks and headers, three corner kicks resulted in own goals. Coach Steve tried to lift the player's spirits and fight on. Fight on they did!!
Forest Killarney was a strong defending and striking team but felt very threatened by the Hurricanes especially in the second half. Positional play and some strong passing sequences forced Forest Killarney to work hard. The Hurricanes had good possession in the second half but were unable to keep out Forest Killarney.
Josh Miller was the second half goalie and courageously defended his goal, after playing a good first half as well. Josh's performance this week resulted in him being awarded the Encouragement Award. Well done Josh!!
The Hurricanes learnt a lot from this game and Coach Steve was encouraging and supportive. As a result of Coach Steve's game round up the Hurricanes are ready to take on the world of Under 9 Division 1 soccer teams once again!!
Go Hurricanes!

Beacon Hill Oval
Beacon Hill Bears v Forest Killarney Dolphins
After missing so many weeks it was great to be back on the field. We had a very even contest with our opponents (BTH Monsters) this week, and what was great to see was that everyone is improving and continuing to try their best.
This match was all about working as a team. Ollie, Coire, Bianca and Xander worked hard in attack and Toby was staunch in defence, but our player of the match was Lachlan who worked tirelessly in attack and defense.
And our new encouragement awards were presented to Lucia, Sophie and Quentin who are all improving and getting more involved in the game.
Remember it is about having fun and improving our personal best.
This week I think we definitely achieved this, great work guys keep it up!

Seaforth Oval
Beacon Hill Tigers v Seaforth Orcas
The Tigers produced another great display this week, considering they have only played twice in the last 5 weeks. They continued their unbeaten run for the season by shutting out their opposition. They tackled really well and did an excellent job at defending all game, so well that they did not concede a single goal.
The Tigers scored many goals this week with Tyler, Ben and Jarvis all getting amongst it. On the score sheet also this week was Corey and Bradley with Torin top scoring. Sam defended really well and was passing the ball superbly. Shohei was again solid in defence, he set up some goals and nearly got one himself. Eric too was a staunch defender, tackling and intercepting balls from the opposition, and making forward runs and passing the ball to his team mates.
After the Tigers established a good lead, their strategy was to dominate by intercepting goal kicks and throw ins, accompanied by strong tackling to win the ball. This resulted in runs with the ball up both wings culminating in passing towards the goal. Highlights were Bradley's excellent defense in his customary role as sweeper, and Corey winning a goal line scramble to stop the oppositions best chance at a goal.
Riley came back into the team after an extended absence and played a blinder with excellent passing and tackling and strong runs down the wings, winning him one of this week's trophy. Player of the Week was Ben, whose passing and shooting was brilliant.

Final score was the Storm 4 and the Panthers 1.

Collaroy Plateau Park
Beacon Hill Hurricanes v CC Strikers Thunders
The Hurricanes took on the Collaroy Strikers in what turned out to be an exciting battle. With Dean captaining the side and Blake in goal for the first half. Coach Steve asked everyone to stay in position and trust each other. The game kicked off in perfectly mild conditions; sun shining not a breath of wind and no dew on the pitch. Both teams shared early position and created chances to score up front. Some great defense efforts from Beacon Hill and as the match started to open up, the play was free flowing and both sides looked dangerous on the counter attack. Hurricanes were unlucky to go into half time down 2 nil.
Coach Steve encouraged everyone to control the ball and Josh was given opportunity as goalkeeper. The Hurricanes had the best of the midfield play in the second half and their efforts paid off at the 15 min mark. Jake, on the end of some great team passing, scored to narrow the gap 2-1. The Hurricanes were storming home with Dean flying down the right with a great solo run. Another shot on goal from Darcy had the goalie beaten and could have easily gone in off the post. You could feel the game hanging in the balance and sense that is was going right down to the wire. Both teams continued to attack in the dying minutes and a late goal from Collaroy saw the final score at 3-1 in favour of the Strikers.
The two goal margin did not reflect on how close the contest was, with little separating the two teams in general play. In the post game wrap up Coach Steve said the team played really well together in what was their hardest game of the season so far.

Wyatt Avenue, Belrose
Beacon Hill Jaguars v BTH Raiders Chargers
A brisk morning greeted the enthusiastic footballers. The Jaguars kept the ball in their half for the first 5 minutes before the Chargers raced up the field narrowly missing a goal. The mighty Jaguars turned it around again and scored first followed almost immediately by a goal from the Chargers. From then on the game was evenly matched with both teams getting goal for goal.
In the second half the Jaguars scored another spectacular goal and made many other goal attempts which only narrowly missed the net. They also saved many goals from the opposition. There were many cheers as the Jaguars held on to win the match.
Both teams displayed excellent sportsmanship, shaking hands and cheering for each other before getting a group photo at the end.

Wyatt Avenue, Belrose
Beacon Hill Bears v BTH Raiders Monsters
After weeks of rain, both sides were eager to get on the field and play.
After the starting whistle blew the Bears forgot about the cold as they engaged in lots of tackling and attacking ball play. In what was an evenly matched game, all of the Bears were enthusiastic and were keen to participate in all of the ball play.
While all of the Bears should be commended for playing a great game, Bianca Raffin and Lachlan Oake stood out for the Bears and Bianca was awarded player of the match for her terrific performance.

The Jackals were happy to get back on the field after a 3 week break.
All were fired up for a big game and there was some great dribbling skills to be seem by all.
Goal scorers were Oliver Benson-Sparks and Isabella Thompson and of course mention should go to Amelia Gianitto for her reverse goal after a sprint down the field which earned her Player of the Week along with James Matheson who displayed some fancy footwork.
Ashleigh Simpson displayed great determination as always and it was a great return to soccer for all (parents included).

Dee Why Oval
Beacon Hill Bullants 1 v Cromer Collaroy Strikers 0
The Bullants could not wait to get on the field and play some soccer: the sun was out and they had three weeks of pent-up energy to expend.
The first excitement of the game came in the third minute, a breaking run from Conor, a moment when it was just him and the goalie, his shot at goal just a whisper away.
Josh and Jacob followed with more attempts on goal, one-on-one with the goalie, their shots somehow missing the target. The onslaught continued, leaving Tom in the other goal looking slightly bored. Jackson and Jordan's excellent defence gave Tom even less to do!
Then disaster struck! The Bullants had a man down, Tully, with a knee injury. Tully bravely hobbled off the field. Somehow the Strikers survived numerous corners and shots on goal and the score was 0-0 by half time.
The second half continued in the same vein, Conor now in goal. Tom had plenty of energy and did some very fancy footwork and big clearing balls. Jacob zoomed up and down the field, hard at work as always. Declan defended and chased and defended again. Finally, success! A superb goal by Josh, set up by Jacob and Jackson.
Josh was Man of the Match. Jordan received the Encouragement Award. Being back on the field was prize enough for everyone else!

Georges Heights, Mosman
Beacon Hill Cheetahs 1 v Mosman Barracudas 2
On a freezing Saturday morning at Georges Heights, our Cheetah's played their best game yet, running rings around a good Mosman side.
Our hopes were high after Jessica scored a cracker opening goal. We could smell our very first win for the season. Great work in goals by Tiana and Jacinta and fantastic defending by Mahalia, Olivia and Bianca made it very hard for Mosman to score, however, they did manage to sneak one past us late in the first half.
Sarah and Pippa were great in both attack and defence. Jessica continued to work tirelessly, trying to secure another goal for the team, however, Mosman managed to beat us to it, scoring again late in the second half. The Cheetahs never stopped trying to score another goal, but unfortunately, we were beaten by the clock.
The Cheetahs played their best game this season and they should be very proud of themselves.
Congratulations girls!

David Thomas, Manly Vale
Beacon Hill Tornadoes v Dee Why Swans
The Tornadoes were all raring to go against Dee Why after several weeks break.
The match started well, with the midfielders launching many attacks down left and right. The forwards blasted a number of shots that just missed the mark. A runaway goal to the opposition put us one goal down.
Shortly after, some great build up work by the whole team allowed Jordon to get a shot on target and score to draw level. But Dee Why had a couple of not-so-secret weapons – a pair of skilful redheads who threaded and blasted their way through our defence to go 2-1 up at half time.
In the second half, our defenders scrambled well to keep the Dee Why attackers at bay, with Eric making some good saves. After some persistent attack, the opponents managed to sneak in one last goal, making the final score 3-1 their way.
Best and Fairest Player: Tom

WOW Storm - what a great team effort!
Our Coaches Award went to Phys and the Encouragement Award went to Filip. Great effort guys.
This match saw the whole team playing well together. Many of our goals were scored through solid back, midfield and forward play.
All throughout the match there was great support play and passing to team mates in a better position. Lets keep up the great team work boys.
Ferdi and Oskar performed well in goal and saved many attempts at goal.
Our goals scorers were Francis (2), Ferdi (2), Cooper and Rhys.
Remember Coach Sam's end of match words: it's not about how many goals were scored - it's how they were scored.
