Grace Wiles was in goal the second half and did a great job. Brooke Romer and Briedelia Wiggins were terrific defenders. Tara Harris, Anisha Sawaid, Melanie Wearing and Tara Gavin all worked like a TEAM to bring home the win.

Beacon Hill All Stars 1 Narrabeen Wildcats 6

Beacon Hill Under 10 All Stars played their second match against the Wildcats and the girls were excited after narrowly losing their first game 4-5 against Avalon. The match was played at a very fast pace with Kyla, Isabella and Sascha working hard in defence. Bella played in goals for the first time ever and was awesome, making many great saves.

Chiara and Michaela never stopped running and started many attacking raids. Grace halted many Narrabeen attacks with great positioning and strong defence. 2-0 down at halftime Coaches Sam and Lachlan gave the players some words of encouragement to try and spark a comeback.

Annika made some good saves in the second half while Neve and Madeline dribbled the ball well. Bronte never stopped trying all game and the team was rewarded with a great goal by Marina in the second half.

The Narrabeen team was just a bit too good today but the All Stars never stopped trying and are already looking forward to their next match! Player of the week was Bella Ali.

Beacon Hill A 3 Beacon Hill B 0

The supporters were out to watch the two Beacon Hill Over 35s fight it out this Sunday and the ladies didn't disappoint!! A great game was played by the two teams with experience winning the day.

Three goals were scored by The Fair Maidens, the first by Jane, who rocketed a ball into the goal, which couldn't be saved by the "B's" goal keeper (Ange). Many more attempts were made during the first half , but Ange was too good and we could not get another ball past her.

The second half saw two more goals scored; with Helen, a newcomer to the team, scoring her first goal!
Lisa Thompson scored the third and final goal for the Maidens.

The mid field performed amazingly, lining up many of the shots for goal and getting the ball down to our half of the field.

The defence line was rock solid, not letting much through, and if they did, Di, our amazing goal keeper was there to stop any attempts to goal. She even performed a commando roll in her exuberant efforts to stop the ball getting anywhere over the goal line.

It was a great game and the score belies the closeness of the game. Well done to the two Beacon Hill Ladies teams for a fast paced, fantastic and fabulous game!

Beacon Hill 8 BTH Raiders 0

After a narrow 1-2 loss in our first game followed by a convincing 7-0 win in week 2 we were keen to make it two wins from three after today.

A brilliant first half with fantastic movement and passing saw us up 8-0 at half time with 4 goals to our youngster Jodie, 2 goals to our little dynamo Kerry and 1 goal each for midfielders Tracey C and Tracey D.

BTH Raiders came out for the second half very determined and managed to keep us scoreless with tighter marking and great goal keeping. We helped their cause by failing to play our own game which I am sure we will be hearing more about from coach Chris at training this week!

With regular goalie Lisa P in Nowra supporting her daughter's Manly United team, Rosemary and Debra had half a game each in goals only needing to touch the ball once each.

Jan was our well deserved player of the match, with excellent composure and accurate passing.

Great to have a comfortable victory that should move us up to 2nd on the points table.

Beacon Hill Swans 6 v BTH Raiders Rubies 5

Bright and early our first game of the season Sunday 18th April found the sun shining and the grounds in perfect condition, with 9 players the girls were very excited - the BTH Raiders were stiff competition & they fought tooth and nail.

Jaimi Coleman was our MVP with 4 goals, Caitlyn Cooper and Anisha Sawaid both scored one goal each, Melanie Wearing, Grace Wiles, Tara Gavin and Briedelia Wiggins all had super boots on with their ball skills.

In attack and defence and thanks to our super goalies' Brooke Romer and Tara Harris. The girls had a great win 6 - 5.

Many thanks to Stephan Wearing for being our ref and to our coach Brendan Harris.

18 April 2010
Wyatt Avenue, Belrose
U13 Division 1
Beacon Hill 6 v BTH Raiders 0

It was an early start up at Wyatt Avenue for the season opener against the BTH Raiders.

It wasn't until about 15 minutes into the first half before the goal drought was broken. The goals came in quick succession starting with a beautiful long range shot from outside the penalty box from Anastasia and two further superb goals by Emily.

The second half continued in much the same fashion with a dominant Beacon Hill scoring a further 3 goals. Ashley made a great run to goal finding the back of the net and Emily adding a further two goals to her tally. Abbey had several attempts at goal and was unlucky not to score.

Melissa, Mel and Anastasia worked tirelessly in centre mid providing support to our strikers putting through some great balls and supporting in defence when needed. Eliza had a very busy game in left midfield position. Hannah had an excellent game in right midfield with some fantastic crosses and a shot at goal nicely positioned into the right corner but this was saved by the BTH goalie.

With Bec, Cassie, Logan and Renae sharing the defensive duties our keepers' (Cassie 1st half and Logan 2nd half) were not called upon to make any saves.

First Grade: Beacon Hill 3 v Forest Killarney 2
Reserve Grade: Beacon Hill 6 v Forest Killarney 0

Round 2 saw us go up against last year's premiers in Forest and with both their sides coming off good wins the week before meant that the challenge lay before our squad. We had learnt well from the previous week around shape, structure and communication and put this to good work at training.

First grade took an early setback after 3 minutes when Forest scored from a free kick that bounced poorly for our keeper.

The team worked hard and went about turning a setback into a comeback that saw us take the lead at halftime 2 – 1.

The second half saw both teams put together some nice passages of play and after a scramble in our goalmouth had the scores levelled at 2 all. Forest had the momentum but Beacon Hill had the will and pressed tirelessly and in the end became the victors.

Our reserve grade team scored within the first 60 seconds and went onto produce the kind of football that we have grown accustomed to watching.

We took a good lead at half time and set the challenge to win the second half, which we achieved.

This team is still finding its way and yesterdays result was promising.

David Thomas, Manly Vale

Beacon Hill 2 Manly Vale 2

What a great comeback from the Fair Maidens.
2 -0 down at half time and feeling very hot and exhausted the ladies made a comeback in the second half.
The manager and coaches believed we could do it.

From the goalkeeper, backs, wings, mids and forwards everyone dug deep. We managed a 2 all draw.

Special mention to player of the match Lisa Thompson who scored 2 cracking goals
(one with a wee bit help from the Manly Vale sweeper)

Well done all players for not giving up and thanks to coaches and manager for believing in us.

WO35 3A
Beacon Hill 3 v Mosman 2

With the sun shining it was a beautiful day for the start to the season.
The Beacon Hill Fair Maidens were relaxed, fighting fit and ready for action.

Di and Jane both showed exceptional skill with some great saves in goals each half. Maria, Kylie, Kerri and Jo were dynamos in defence, sending the ball flying forward. Great ball passing to and from the midfielders Caz, Cathy, Lisa Thompson and Liz, giving Sam and Lisa Tyrrell the perfect opportunity to show us some awesome ball skills resulting in them scoring three great goals.

In the second half we slowed down the pace, which allowed the Mosman team to step up their pace and sneak in two goals.
A great win with no injuries.

Premier League
Round 1 v Brookvale
First Grade: Loss 5-2
Reserve Grade: Loss 3-1

This was going to be a good test for us today as we debut into Premier League and Brookvale were well drilled and started with high intensity in both grades.

The first grade encounter was quite an even affair from the start with Beacon Hill not taking advantage of their opportunities and Brookvale did, and by half time we were down 4 nil.

The challenge was now in front of us and when we began to settle and put our combinations together we began to show glimpses of what we are capable of doing and went onto win the second half 2 – 1.

Once the communication takes place and we find our rhythm the challenge's ahead will become easier.

Our young reserve grade team worked hard for 90 minutes and were unlucky not to score on several occasions and once they settle into position and hold shape the football will flow.

The challenge for Reserve grade will be to learn to play the inner game.

11/04/10
Ladies AL1
Beacon Hill v BTH Raiders

Photo: Ladies AL1: Beacon Hill v BTH Raiders

It was an unfortunate 0-4 nil loss against BTH Raiders for the Ladies AL1's.

With many team members never having played together before, all worked hard and gelled together quickly to try and stop the very fast and very skilled forwards of BTH.

Coming back on to the field at half time being 2 nil down with constructive and positive words from the coach Brett Honey, we took charge with many shots on goal but unfortunately for our forward Ida Olsson the ball would have none of it and was hitting the corner post and bouncing back in the field of play.

All in all a good game was had by all. I have to commend our young 16's in our team for having to step up so quickly from playing social in under 18's and then having to now play a much tougher psychically and mentally game, and to the older girls showing their support.

A special mention to Helen Whithear from the AL2's rushing from having played her game to come play keeper for the AL1's.
