Weekend 9/10th August 2008
U10/1: Beacon Hill 2 Mosman 0
The Beacon Hill team was looking at continuing their recent good form for today's game against Mosman.
From the start the play was all over the park with great attack & defence from both teams. Some good passing up field from the midfield to the forwards resulted in Jonathon being in the right spot in the goal mouth & scoring the first goal. The play went Mosman's way downfield from the restart, where great scrambling defence from Rhys resulted in a corner to Mosman. From the corner a hand ball by BH resulted in a direct free kick. David saved the penalty with some neat keeping which really gave the BH boys a lift. Soon after the play went up field, where through some great passing Darcy scored a neat goal to lead at half time 2 - 0.
The second half continued with great attacking raids up front & some desperate defence by Beacons. A second direct penalty saw Mosman push the ball into the crossbar and then be cleared away by David. The best goal scoring opportunities for the second half were from Callum, Lachlan & Nicholas, but last line of defence by Mosman saw no further goals to BH. Hayden at centre back, Rhys & Ned in the midfield were strong in defence & attack.
The player of the week trophy went to Lachlan, who was everywhere in attack & defence playing in the midfield. Lachy has been playing very consistent footy this year & was unlucky to not score. The 2 - 0 win is a reward for the Beacon Hill boys, as they have been playing great football over recent weeks & getting some wins. Let the good work & enthusiasm continue till the end of season.

Weekend 2/3rd August 2008
U10/1: Beacon Hill 5 Forest Killarney 0
From the outset the game were to be very even game with both teams on the same points in the comp.
From the whistle the play was all over the park from both teams. BH was playing into the wind first half which made for tough conditions. Some great ball work & passing up front from Darcy, Callum & Jonathon allowed Jonathon to slot a neat goal. During the first half great defence work in the midfield & at the back helped keep the score Beacons way 1-0 at drink break.
In the second half with the wind behind BH the boys were on attack, though the Forest opposition was playing strong. The passing & positional play was outstanding & a feature from the whole team; as they were really playing great teamwork. It would be unfair to leave anyone out from the great result. Great attack raids up front led to second half goals to Nicholas, Jordan, a second to Jonathon & a penalty from Darcy saw Beacons come away with their season's best result. Cameron, Adam, Hayden & Rhys were strong in defence & attack at the back. Callam, Ned, Lachlan, & Luke were very busy in the midfield keeping forest in check. Brilliant works in goals from David including a spectacular penalty save, kept Forest scoreless.
The player of the week trophy went to Nicholas, who saw plenty of balls up front. Nick was busily involved in attack, was on the spot to slot a goal in the second half from a typically great corner kick from Hayden. The game result of 5 - 0 win is just reward for the Beacon Hill players, as they have been playing great football over recent weeks, without the right results. Let the good work & enthusiasm continue till the end of season.

U10/6: Beacon Hill 2 BTH Raiders 0
The boys trekked out to a cold and windy Terrey Hills for an 8.20am game to face second placed Belrose Terrey Hills (BTH) with the prize of finishing the regular season with an undefeated record on the line.
It was clear from the first whistle that the boys were keen to maintain this record. Despite an overwhelming territorial advantage in the first half some resilient defence held us to a single goal.
The boys maintained the pressure in the second half and were rewarded mid way through with a great long range shot to give us some breathing space at 2-0 which ended as the full-time score.
We look forward to meeting BTH again in the semi-finals as the game was played in great spirit.
